Not only are guavas good for you, but they're also incredibly fragrant. As soon as you leave them on your kitchen counter, your whole house starts to smell like guavas. Guavas are the best all-natural air freshener out there. And in case I haven't mentioned it, guavas are delicious and sweet, as is this Guava Agua Fresca.
Agua de Guayaba
Ingredients:
- 8 fresh guavas, cut in quarters
- 8 cups water
- 1 cinnamon stick
- Granulated sugar (about 1/2 to 3/4 cup)
Directions:
Puree the guavas and cinnamon stick with 3 to 4 cups of water until smooth. Strain puree into a 2-quart pitcher. Pour in the remaining water; sweeten with granulated sugar to taste. Stir to dissolve sugar completely. Serve with ice. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI can only find fresh guayaba for a limited period at our Mexican markets every year. Hubby loves it, though...and we make this when we can get it. Makes me wish I had a refreshing glass now!

ReplyDeleteOoohhh! Paletas de Guayaba are so delicious and this recipe works really well for paletas. Of course, when I'm making paletas, I don't strain the pulp or the seeds. :)
